PRODUCT STORY :
Bobbinwork is a sewing technique that explores unconventional or textured yarn on the surface of a fabric. Sewn as machine-fed decorative stitches through the bobbins. There are 18 rows of stitches on this pillow.
It is made by Japanese 'Washi' or paper yarn on top of handwoven rayon fabric. The base fabric is made by pedal loom weavers in Ibu Lusi's house, Sleman. 'Ondel-ondel' is a traditional art of puppetry in Betawi's culture and the papery texture of this pillow celebrates the festivity of its crown.
